Create a rent receipt for a payment received
Record rent paid for a property with the tenant and landlord names, rent period, amount, and payment reference. Use it to prepare a clear receipt for the landlord to review and issue. Preview is free; the final PDF uses credits.

How to create your receipt PDF
- Enter the tenant and landlord names and addresses. Add landlord contact details if needed.
- Enter the property address, receipt number, receipt date, and rent period.
- Add the rent amount and any maintenance or other charges included in this payment.
- Choose the payment method and enter the payment date and reference. Add remarks or signature images where needed.
- Check the names, period, total, and payment details in the preview, then download the PDF using the credits shown in the picker.
Rent receipt example: rent and maintenance
Rent of 12,000 plus maintenance of 500 and other charges of 100 gives a receipt total of 12,600. Use one currency throughout and include each charge once. The receipt treats this total as paid.
The Security Deposit field is shown separately and is not added to the receipt total. If you need a receipt specifically for a deposit payment, use a document that clearly records that payment rather than adding it as monthly rent.
Rent period and payment date
The rent period identifies which period the payment covers. The payment date records when the money was received, while the receipt date records when the receipt was prepared. These dates can differ.
Include the year with the period where possible so receipts from different years are easy to distinguish. Keep the property address specific enough to identify the rented unit.
Payment details and signatures
Add the bank, UPI, cheque, or other payment reference when available. The format has landlord and tenant signature image controls. Check the names and use a signature image only with the signer’s permission.
There is no separate amount-paid or outstanding-rent field. Use this receipt for the payment it acknowledges; it is not a running rent balance statement.

Can I make a monthly rent receipt?
Yes. Enter the rent period, property, tenant, landlord, and payment details. Check the period and year before downloading.
Does the total include maintenance charges?
Yes. Rent Amount, Maintenance Charges, and Other Charges are added together. Enter only charges covered by this receipt.
Is the security deposit included in the total?
No. The Security Deposit field is displayed separately and does not increase the receipt total.
Can the receipt date differ from the payment date?
Yes. Enter the date the receipt is prepared and the date payment was received in their separate fields.
Can I add signatures?
Yes. The form includes landlord and tenant signature image controls. Check the preview after adding them.
Can I show an outstanding rent balance?
This format treats its total as paid and has no separate outstanding-balance field. It is designed to acknowledge the payment recorded.
Will this automatically qualify for an expense or tax claim?
No. Ask the relevant reviewer which details and supporting records they require. The generator does not assess a claim.
